S. lacrymans monokaryons S7.9 and S7.3 were prepared from the S. lacrymans S7 dikaryon. The strain S7.3 was sequenced with 454 (Roche) pyrosequencing and assembled using assembled S7.9 (sequenced using Sanger platform) as a template for scaffolding. Interestingly the S7.3 genome contained more genes than the S7.9 genome.
