Perilla frutescens were grown using a Deep Flow Technique (DFT) hydroponic system that is same as the system used at a factory. Seeds soaked in water were incubated for 7 days in a growth chamber for rooting. We prepared a RNA-Seq library and obtained the sequence read files using a HiSeq 2000 sequencer.
