This study aims to produce biogenic methane from lignite-H2O2 reaction solution using lignite as inoculate. The lignite was collected from river bed outcrop in northern Hokkaido, Japan. Generation of biogenic methane was confirmed from the lignite-H2O2 reaction solution in the presence of lignite, while such generation was not confirmed when lignite was inoculated in pure water.
