In this study, we developed and evaluated a core genome multilocus sequence typing (cgMLST) scheme for Clostridioides (Clostridium) difficile. We used a diverse collection of strains for the establishment of the scheme and evaluated the scheme using a divers collection of strains to determine its representability and discriminatory power.
