In the current study, 49 Klebsiella strains from humans, dogs, and cats were analyzed using advanced NGS technology. The analysis revealed diverse sequence types among K. pneumoniae isolates, with some human and animal isolates showing similar characteristics. Human isolates exhibited more pronounced resistance patterns compared to those from pet animals. High levels of resistance were observed for various antibiotics, and carbapenem resistance was only found in K. pneumoniae of human origin. Further comprehensive studies are needed to understand the relationship between antimicrobial resistance determinants and phenotypic data. Monitoring the spread of K. pneumoniae from a One Health perspective in Egypt is crucial.
