Changes to the gut microbiota across chronic pancreatitis (CP) are poorly characterised, with a paucity of knowledge surrounding relationships between CP type and pancreatic manifestations with the gut microbiota composition. In a pilot study, we employed 16S rRNA sequencing to investigate gut microbiota composition across CP participants related to diet (alcohol) or genetic (CFTR heterozygosity). Healthy controls were also integrated for top-line community comparisons. Clinical metadata was further utilised to explore potential relationships with microbiota structure, including pancreatic-specific clinical data.
