The green and black poison dart frog (Dendrobates auratus) is a brightly-colored member of the order Anura native to southern Central America and Colombia. This sample is from a female juvenile individual, the first offspring of individuals aDenAur2 (mother) and aDenAur3 (father), derived from populations at the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center in the Guayacan Rainforest and bred in the Burmeister lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was procured by Sabrina Burmeister to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing and genome curation were conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco. Sabrina Burmeister conducted genome assembly.
