This study originated in a clinical case of urosepsis in a 2-year-old feline male. The animal had a urethral obstruction and was catheterized; however, the clinic progressed to dyspnea and thoracic effusion. Post-mortem evaluation and microbiological analyses were performed. Therefore, this study aimed to correlate the UTI pathology and the genetic origin and phenotypic profile of Escherichia coli isolated from urine and lung from the feline with urosepsis.
