Tenualosa ilisha, commonly known as Hilsa, is a fish species in the herring family (Dorosomatidae). It is an anadromous fish and primarily found in the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea, and associated rivers, especially in Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, and Pakistan.
