Rumen samples were collected from three moose in Alaska, USA. Partial sequences from the 18S rRNA gene of rumen ciliate protozoa were sequenced and analyzed. Sequence analysis was used to validate three new primer sets for partial amplification of the 18S gene for sequencing and phylogenetics.
