We investigated the epidemiology of all LA-MRSA CC9/CC398 cases in Denmark by reviewing comprehensive national surveillance data on MRSA from 1999 to 2014. Isolates from these cases were compared with a European collection of CC9/CC398 isolates from humans, animals, and retail foods using whole genome phylogenetic analysis.
