To understand the biosynthesis of C. majus BIAs, we performed de novo transcriptome sequencing of leaf and root tissues of C. majus using Illumina high-throughput sequencing technology. Overall design: Different tissues, including roots and leaves from Chelidonium majus were used for transcriptome sequencing using the Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform to generate paired-end (2×150 base) reads.
