Dipodomys merriami has a relatively broad distribution in the SW US and Mexico, and in California it is found across the Mojave Desert, Owens Valley, and further north at Honey Lake Valley. Several subspecies are of concern at state and federal levels. The samples in this bioproject cover most of the range in California.. These data have been produced as part of the CCGP. Sequencing was conducted with HiFi Pacific Biosciences long reads at UCDavis Genome Core, Dovetail's OmniC libraries, and Illumina sequencing at UCBerkeley QB3 Genomics Core.
