Wolbachia, a maternally transmitted endosymbiont that infects many insect species, manipulates host reproduction through a mechanism known as Cytoplasmic Incompatibility (CI). While CI ensures the rapid spread of Wolbachia through uninfected populations, the mechanism of CI remains poorly understood. Uploaded reads are from individual cellularized blastoderm embryos collected from CI, wild-type, and "rescue" crosses.
