Atherosclerosis is a lipid-driven inflammatory disease.However, evidence emerging so far from single cell atlases suggests a dichotomy between lipid associated and inflammatory macrophage states. Here, we present the most inclusive reference atlas of human intraplaque immune cell communities to date.
