Typha angustifolia, known as caittail, is a wetland plant that is native to Asia and Australia. It is often used for phytoremediation because of its important role in purifying water, protecting water bodies, and maintaining the stability of wetland ecosystems. It is also a traditional medicinal herb, and the pollen is used as medicine to stop bleeding, and prevent coronary heart disease, hyperlipidemia and myocardial infarction, among many other pharmacological effects.
