Project: PRJNA949990
Climate change is likely to affect soil microbial communities; yet, the long-term impact is still poorly understood. The Harvard Forest Soil Warming Experiment examines how increasing global temperatures alter soil systems. This project specifically explores microbial genomes in response to increasing soil temperatures. Experimental soil plots are heated 5 degree Celsius above ambient temperature and bacteria were isolated from both the experimental and control plots. Strains were isolated and genomic DNA was extracted for sequence analysis.
