DNA replication and repair protein RecF

NCBIfam entry
Member databaseNCBIfam (includes TIGRFAMs)
NCBIfam typefamily
Short namerecf

Description

This family is based on the phylogenomic analysis of JA Eisen (1999, Ph.D. Thesis, Stanford University). All proteins in this family for which functions are known are DNA-binding proteins that assist the filamentation of RecA onto DNA for the initiation of recombination or recombinational repair.
