Description
This family includes antimicrobial peptides secreted from skins of frogs. The secretion of antimicrobial peptides from the skins of frogs plays an important role in the self defense of these frogs. Structural characterization of these peptides showed that they belonged to four known families: the brevinin-1 family, the esculentin-2 family, the ranatuerin-2 family and the temporin family
