PIRSF018982

Ethanolamine ammonia-lyase, small subunit

PIRSF entry
Member databasePIRSF
PIRSF typefamily
Short nameEutC

Description

This group represents ethanolamine ammonia-lyase small subunit (EutC). Adenosylcobalamin-dependent ethanolamine ammonia-lyase EutBC () is part of the ethanolamine utilization pathway
[2, 4, 6]
. It catalyses the adenosylcobalamin-dependent conversion of certain vicinal amino alcohols to oxo compounds and ammonia
[3, 5, 1]
. The enzyme is a heterodimer composed of large (EutB, ) and small (EutC) subunits.
