GenProp0672 - Citrate lyase system

Type: SYSTEM

Author: Haft DH

Description

Citrate lyase is a holoenzyme composed of alpha (citrate:acetyl-ACP transferase), beta (citryl-S-ACP lyase), and gamma (acyl carrier protein) subunits in a stoichiometric relationship of 6:6:6. Citrate lyase is an enzyme which converts citrate to oxaloacetate. In bacteria, this reaction is involved in citrate fermentation [1].
