GenProp2037 - Nuclear pore subcomplex Nup107-160

Type: COMPLEX

Author: Rawlings ND

Description

The Nup107-160 subcomplex of the nuclear pore complex (NPC) consists of NUP160, NUP133, NUP107, NUP98, NUP85, NUP43, NUP37, SEH1 and SEC13. This subcomplex is required for the assembly of a functional NPC [1]. This subcomplex is also required for normal kinetochore microtubule attachment, mitotic progression and chromosome segregation [2]. Phosphorylation of the subcomplex regulates its association with the NPC and other proteins [3].
