Description
In mitosis, chromosomes replicate and the resulting sister-chromatid pairs are held together along their length by cohesin complexes. Associated with the centromere of each chromatid is a kinetochore, a specialized protein assembly that captures microtubules (MTs) of the mitotic spindle. This superfamily includes a range of kinetochore proteins such as Csm1, Spc24 and Spc25 [1].
