A well differentiated, low, intermediate, or high grade neoplasm with neuroendocrine differentiation that arises from the pancreas. According to the presence or absence of clinical syndromes that result from hormone hypersecretion, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors are classified either as functional or nonfunctional.
