Announcement

Round 14 of CAPRI has two related targets, both unbound, that involve the interaction of the Rho GTPase binding domain (RBD) of plexin B1 and two small G-proteins bound to GTP. In solution, the RBD may be a monomer or a dimer (Tong et al., 2005, Structure 13:7); both species are observed to bind G-proteins.

T30, offered by W. Tempel, Y. Tong, H. Park and C. Arrowsmith (Structural Genomics Consortium, Toronto, Ontario) is a crystal structure of Rnd1-GTP bound to the RBD dimer; they also offer a newly determined X-ray structure of the free RBD dimer.

T31 offered by P. Chugha and M. Buck (Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio) is a NMR structure of Rac1-GTP (1mh1) in complex with the RBD monomer. Y. Tong and M. Buck also determined a NMR structure for the free RBD monomer (2jph, on hold).

We remind CAPRI participants that this information and the RBD coordinates must be kept confidential until published by the authors.
