What is BioImage Archive?
The BioImage Archive (BIA) is a free, publicly available online resource which stores and distributes biological images associated with peer-reviewed publications, as well as other important datasets that can serve as reference examples for particular biological or technical domains (Figure 1).
The BIA’s scope is bioimaging data at scales from molecules to organisms. It accepts data from any imaging modality. It cannot, however, accept patient-identifiable medical data, derived from clinical imaging.
The BIA also provides data archiving services to the broader bioimaging database community including added-value bioimaging data resources such as EMPIAR and IDR.
The BioImage Archive policies can be accessed here.
