Finding the sequence and region of a gene
Scenario
The human ‘furry homolog (Drosophila)‘ gene (or FRY) is involved in cell morphogenesis, regulating the actin cytoskeleton, and patterning sensory neuron dendritic fields
Exercise
You want to design primers to clone the human FRY gene, and understand a little bit about the genomic region. Try the following tasks with Ensembl:
- View and export the sequence, paying attention to exon boundaries.
- Find the neighbouring genes to FRY.
