Family C105
Summary for family C105
Family type peptidase | C105.001 - papain-like peptidase 1 alpha (simian hemorrhagic fever virus) (simian hemorrhagic fever virus), MEROPS Accession MER0511399 (peptidase unit: 1-243) |
Content of family | Family C105 contains polyprotein-processing cysteine endopeptidases. |
History |
Identifier created: MEROPS 9.11 (21 July 2014) Family C105 includes a polyprotein 1ab processing peptidase from simian hemorrhagic fever virus (C105.001). The C105 peptidase is the N-terminal protein and known as PLP1alpha. The polyprotein is processed by three other peptidases, two cysteine peptidases from family C32 (PLP1beta and PLP1gamma) (Vatter et al., 2014) and a poorly characterized homologue from family S32. |
Catalytic type | Cysteine |
Active site residues | C115 H130 |
Active site | A Cys, His catalytic dyad is predicted (Vatter et al., 2014). |
Activities and specificities | Processing of polyprotein 1ab occurs at two glycyl bonds (Vatter et al., 2014). |
